At least for non-release versions available through Nix, and possibly also final release versions, I think strc –version should contain the SVN revision number.

This makes it easier for those of us who need to juggle between a lot of different strc versions to get the various bleeding edge programs to work.

I don’t think it’s detrimental or confusing to end-users to leave it in the release versions, but it could be removed from these.
