A stack overflow, say due to a nonterminating innermost invocation, will terminate with a segfault. This is very ugly. We should hook the appropriate sighandler and report stack overflows are proper stack overflows, and possibly also do stack inspection if possible.

Possibly, common pitfalls, such as a runaway innermost, may be warned about. This depends on how portable the stack inspection facilities are.
