Many of our applications use markdown, some provide previews for the markdown text, all provide a pretty bad editing experience. The editor window is typically too small, and it is not possible to see text and preview together.

So, it would be most useful to have a reusable markdown editing widget that

• provides a large (and resizable) editor pane
• provides a side-by-side preview, i.e. the preview should be to the right side of the editor instead of under it.
• uses the CSS of the target of the text to format the preview, so that the editor sees what the result will be
