One thing you may want to think about up front, is how to make the workshops more visible on whatever the splashcon.org front page becomes: we had a few too many workshops that were cancelled due to lack of submissions, and I believe that having had them more visible on the front page up until their respective deadlines (which are always before the early registration deadline) would have made a difference.
