Hi Elmer,

I am trying to change the dates of Onward! 2015 to 25-30 October 2015, but the system won’t allow me to do that.

This is the page I want to change.
http://conf.researchr.org/manageConferenceEdition/onward2015/onward2015

The system keeps complaining about the field:

UTC offset in minutes

but I have used various combinations but it eventually worked using 300 minutes.

Can you instead use a drop down for timezones?

Thanks,
Craig

Hi Craig,

Did you have problems when you used other UTC offsets? Or do you mean that it started working correctly as soon as you entered a UTC offset?
I was indeed planning to change this field to become a dropdown, but it was introduced in a hurry to fix the program views (like upcoming events) during SPLASH 2014.

ps. I changed it to be -240 minutes, which is the offset for Pittsburgh (http://www.timeanddate.com/time/zone/usa/pittsburgh)

it started working once I entered a UTC offset. Basically I don’t want to have to calculate that. I thought Pittsburgh was 5 hours - UTC hence 5*60 = 300 minutes.

Nonetheless a drop down would be much easier rather than having to calculate everything manually.

Thanks,
Craig
