grub-install complains about not knowing the BIOS device for /dev/vda.

Workaround: install without virtio (i.e. on /dev/sda), then change to virtio. If you use labels you don’t even need to update configuration.nix.

Apparently Debian has a fix for this, but it depends on all their other gigantic changes to Grub.

Grub 2 seems not to have this problem.
