Following http://strategoxt.org/CC/Day1 I setup a new eclipse install w/ 3.7 and the modified .ini file. I followed the directions to import and build MiniJava. There was one error reported, in the example.spt test file:

Language MiniJava not defined or not loaded example.spt /MiniJava/tests line 1 org.strategoxt.imp.runtime.analysismarker

I’m wondering how to get beyond this, and whether the example needs to be updated?

I quit Eclipse and then started it a few days later and the error was gone. Maybe there is something about a newly setup eclipse that let most of it work but not one small piece that gave the error message?

The example project is from the previous course. Meanwhile, Spoofax was updated. I assume in your first build, outdated files were regenerated and your second build succeeded?

Maybe, but I thought I had rebuilt a few times before quitting, and I did not initiate a build when eclipse started again, though maybe it did that for me, I don’t know. I looked to the error pane after it started (in the background while I did other things) and saw no error where I was expecting one to be. I imagine to reproduce I’d have to start from scratch with a fresh install of eclipse.

If you do the lab, you can just start with a new, empty Spoofax project from the wizard. When the lab description was made, there was no empty project option, why we provided one for the students. Also make sure to run on Spoofax stable, even if the lab description tells you something different.
