Yup, I think you're right. But my intuition said the opposite (i.e. I thought "Reset" means "Make sure this ticket cannot be used anymore"). And the explanation on the same page seemed to reinforce that intuition ("Resetting a ticket will invalidate current exam session")

Regarding the naming of the buttons, would it help if we rename it to "Renew ticket" ?

I think most words can lead to confusion. Perhaps keep the current buttons but add some text above more clearly defining what happens when you press the button

I used this same interface and was confused again.

Yes, I think renaming "Reset ticket" to "Renew ticket" will help.

And then the other button can just be "Generate new key" (which then obviously will be a fresh one which can be used right away).

Decided to keep it “Reset Ticket” because it actually resets the ticket to “unused”.
“Renew” could imply that the ticket was already invalid, and would be renewed, or that you renew the running exam session, which is not the case.
The explanation text has been updated to clearly state that current session will be invalidated and a new session can be started by the student.
