By default, java assignments run on Java version 7.
With this update we add support for Java version 8 assignments, with the additional advantage of running student code with JIT-compilation enabled again. This was disabled in older versions of Java, because of a bug which could cause the backends to hang completely.
Java 8 can be enabled for an assignment by having java8 in the language field, instead of java.
