Having a designated exam domain for WebLab enables us to serve a restricted mode of WebLab. The WebLab environment (Windows image) that is loaded on TUD computers in computer rooms using the weblab login should only allow access to this domain (and TUD gatekeeper for login).

When served from weblab-exam.tudelft.nl:

  • don’t allow access to:
    • profile pages
    • course dossiers
    • lecture notes
  • only allow students to view (their submissions for) assignments for which an exam key is required
  • advertise upcoming/ongoing exams on the course edition’s home page for easy navigation to the exam assignment
  • render assignment navigation bar with different background color and label restricted exam mode for easy recognition of this mode
  • one should be able to manage their enrolment on the course edition page (e.g. to (re-)enrol for grade)
  • one should have access to the scala/python/java docs
  • preprocess manually entered (assignment) texts by rewriting weblab.tudelft.nl to weblab-exam.tudelft.nl, as the unrestricted domain will be inaccessible.

In case issues arise during an exam caused by the exam-mode restriction, allow administrators to disable the access restrictions on the administrator page
