Spoofax error marking functionality currently collides with that of XML editors included in Eclipse WTP, as described in https://yellowgrass.org/issue/Spoofax/620.

This issue is about documenting the incompatibility somewhere close to the update site location, in a visible place. The documentation should mention that:

  1. the recommended flavour of Eclipse is classic.
  2. manually adding a content-type extension to a Spoofax language in plugin.xml solves this issue for deployed plugins.
  3. the incompatibility is only apparent when defining languages with file extensions that are associated with the XML content type in Eclipse, e.g. net, xml, xmi, xds …
