STR-145: Shared libraries are not shared at Cygwin: static linking is used.
This results in binaries of about 2Mb. A binary distribution of StrategoXT for Cygwin is 300 Mb. Maybe it has something to do with the undefined symbols.

Interesting: shared libraries are not created at all. However, undefined symbol are only not allowed at link time, there is no fundamental problem with undefined symbols in a library, if I understand the scattered information at mailing lists.Passing -no-undefined to libtool at library creation time should do the job.

This is not easy to solve: we need a shared aterm library and there might me some problems in our own libraries. I’ll strip the binaries for the creation of the binary distribution.
