Web sites should ask the user for permission to use cookies. Would be nice to have a generic check and overlay widget that can be adapted to (the style) of a particular application.

Does one of the current web applications really require this action?
It might be a good idea to have such a widget indeed. However, what I know is that the current law does only require permission for 3th party cookies/ not functional cookies. They are bussy with or already have adapted the law that coockies like google analitics does not require permission as well.
