and perhaps sort issues by type. e.g. all errors together; I want to see quickly which issues are bugs that have high priority.

Issue types are now visible in any issue overview, which shows the tags. They are shown first and are prominently colored. Grouping and sorting along tags is not yet available, but this is another (open) issue. Available on next update.
