Hi Elmer,

I did some advertising of the conferences and noticed that I have since changed the URL for DBPL. Is it possible to add in some redirects to the correct URL? See email below from James Cheney. I imagine this is something relatively easy to do by adding in an alias key or something like that. Or maybe we could just do a workaround this time and make redirects for DBPL. Then look at a longer term solution.

Thanks,
Craig

Hi,

It seems that Google/other search engines still haven’t picked up the correct link. I see that the CFPs I posted previously also had the wrong link, so hopefully posting them again (with the correction) will help fix this.

It seems that the old links were valid at some point, since Google has cached pages.

Is it possible to get the old, incorrect / outdated links

http://2015.splashcon.org/home/dbpl-2015
http://conf.researchr.org/home/dbpl-2015/
http://2015.splashcon.org/track/dbpl-2015-papers
http://conf.researchr.org/track/dbpl-2015/dbpl-2015-papers

redirected to

http://2015.splashcon.org/home/dbpl2015

http://2015.splashcon.org/track/dbpl2015-papers
http://conf.researchr.org/track/dbpl2015/dbpl2015-papers

respectively?

Thanks,

–James

Right now I’m adding the notion of alias keys. Whenever a key of a track/committee/person/event is changed, an alias will be created that triggers a redirect to the updated URL. When this is live, the above mentioned out-dated links can be revived.

All links are now redirected. Closing this issue.
