If a new publication has been added, it is no longer possible to change the type of the entry. If, e.g., the entry was supposed to be @inproceedings but @article was given, there is no way to correct the mistake. This causes a number of problems, starting from incorrect BibTeX output to lots of incorrect journal titles in the database.
