Some ideas to improve navigation/search:

• issue 243: Add search field, accesible on every page
• issue 273: Faceted search based on new search configurations of WebDSL
• A default global search instead of publication, author, bib, journal, conf, .. search
• Result page shows top N (N = 5?) authors, tags, journals, … matching the user query in a compact frame on top of the publication results
• Dynamic pagination index
• Ability to sort search results on: publication date, …
• Facets to narrow down search
• show publications since: 1990, 1991 , …, 2011, 2012
• top tags
• top conferences
• top authors
• Advanced search form ala google scholar instead of lucene syntax, to exclude terms, to exactly and partly match terms
• When entering a tag, show autocomplete suggestions showing existing tags
• Autocomplete might be usefull on other places
• Use different preprocessing for search, which keeps stop words
• …
